The Applied Innovation Competition 2023 is organized by Archimedes Center of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is inextricably linked to the sector priorities of the Attica Regional Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3). The purpose of the Competition is to highlight and promote research with an impact on society and economy, by encouraging researchers to leave the laboratory for a while and consider the practical applications of their research results.

The Competition is addressed to individual researchers and research groups consisting of at least one faculty member of NKUA. It is implemented in the context of the “Attica Regional Innovation Center (KE.K.P.A.)” program, coded 2018ΕΠ0851000051 and MIS coded 5030984 in E.P. “Attica” 2014 – 2020 and is financed by Attica Regional Development Fund. A prerequisite for participation in the Competition is the relevance of the research objects to the fields of specialization of the Regional Strategy of Attica (RIS3), as defined by the Attica Region.
